Ok. So it’s been talked to fucking death. The timeline is in shambles and even in defeat, nu jersey twork has torn the battle rap world in two. If you’ve been living under a rock or got locked out of your neighbors wifi, let me sum up what happened for you.
Twork had a battle with swamp. A battle that he had from some accounts, 7 goddamn months to write for. There’s women in their 3rd goddamn trimester right now with the amount of time this man had to prep and what does this gargoyle do? Choke. And he choked hard.
Like…REALLY CHOKED…you heard doors opening and closing…there was 2 minutes of silence…it was basically this picture but in battle rap form.
Now…it wasn’t necessarily the choke that threw me off…don’t get me wrong, it was the stuff of fucking legend and shit but it was the reaction. The silence. No boos. Not even a quiet breaking cough.
That’s when it started. That’s when I noticed what was clear as day. They were giving twork a chance to get it back and that’s fine… we’ve seen this before with other battlers but the chance they gave that man was WAAAAAY too immense…even by current battle rap standards.
And battle rap Twitter reacted. NIGGA. DID THEY EVER REACT.
Tweets ranging from being sick of this shit he pulls to general disappointment…and it was something that even some of his fan base couldn’t justify…I mean they tried to…300 niggas voted that he somehow won the battle that he Jersey’d twice in…and every single one of those people needs to be sterilized because that level of dick eating cannot be allowed to breed.
Battlers jumped to his defense and we got hit with a “you can’t do what we do…you don’t know what it takes.” Defense. Well I’d certainly love to know what it is we can’t do if we have 7 months to prepare for it. Batman could beat a stone wielding thanos with that much fuckin prep time so you can get that excuse the entire fuck outta here. And then the other issue became clear as day.
Fans and battlers don’t coddle twork because he’s a genuinely great talent with a near limitless ceiling…they coddle him out of habit.
We saw it happen with chess, roc, surf…and we’re seeing it now with twork only amplified. And it needs to end. Twork can’t be handheld or given special treatment anymore. It enables him to not prep, run off with deposits…if anything, protecting him is doing far more harm than good and who ends up looking stupid at the end of the day defending someone who couldn’t come up with SOMETHING…ANYTHING resembling 3 rounds and 7 months prep time?

So twork? Take a breather. Relax. Get some hoes, smoke a few blunts and reevaluate a few things. Because at this point? The safety net you’ve developed? Is eventually going to be the ground that catches you on your downfall.
